Last summer I visited my family in Albuquerque, just at the time when Windows 98 Second Edition (SE) was released. I was in Albuquerque's Page One book store, which besides vending books vends computer software, and I picked up the full version of Windows 98 SE for $199.

When I get around to it, I'll install a boot manager and Red Hat Linux 6.1, as I did on my previous computer. It's fun to have a Linux box on which to practice Linux tricks.

For the present (late 1999), Windows 98 is the most useful operating system because it enjoys the widest application support.
